Here here to the spammers!  They’re doing my head in.  They are all Chinese.  There are no restrictions in China for spamming.  We are nearly there so thank you for your patience.  They are exactly the words that I have been wanting to send back on the emails but I know they never look at it and just move on to open a new address and spam anew!
Anyway I’m not giving them any more of my concern time.  It’s you I’m very much more concerned about.  I know that when I can’t get to sleep and get impatient with myself I just keep myself awake and it’s a double whammy!
I was just talking to a friend of mine who is a psychologist at the weekend as her husband has great difficulty sleeping.  She has started putting him in a yoga position (just a relaxing position really) and telling him to just relax.  She tried it on the lawn in the sun (I know there isn’t any sun now but…!).  He was insisting it wasn’t working but when my friend came back from the bathroom he was asleep!  He has always had real problems sleeping and gets up at all hours of the night so if it’s working for him it could be worth a try if you feel like it.
Also I found that just trying to relax whilst lying in bed even though I couldn’t sleep and not worrying about not being able to sleep I got up when I had to feeling much better with more energy and less down and stressed.
Thinking of you Clinging on.  Helen

Dear Clinging on, I had real problems sleeping and used to stick a DVD on of my favourite series that I’ve watched before.  By putting something on the TV that I’ve watched before I didn’t force myself to stay awake to watch something new or need to concentrate and I fall asleep while watching TV.  It worked and still does.  I still stick a DVD on every night when I go to bed.  I’ve never liked going to bed anyway as I don’t want my time to end as the next morning I know I have to get up for work.  Going to bed to watch a funny DVD gets me to bed and look forward to going to bed to watch it rather than feeling I’m going to bed just to get up for work the next day.  Does that make sense?  It’s probably not advised by experts as TV is meant to stimulate but it works for me.  Will

haha smile love the story about your friends husband… what does the position look like? i think im going to try it! anything is worth a try! and thanks for that will smile .. i share a room with my sister… and cant really do that cause i will wake her up :( however there has been a few times i have went to bed for a nap in the afternoon and put my tv to distract myself enough to stop me from stressing about sleeping.. but not to much where my mind is racing ... i think i may download some audio books to try listen too. but everything is just a major effort… im paying £14 a month on phone insurance and know i can get it cheaper and even though i could save alot of money ... i still cant motivate myself to do it.. anyways i think my brain is going to explode!

Dear Clinging on, she just sits him with his legs crossed relaxed with his hands raised and thumb and index finger clenched.  It seems to work.  He even does a version of it lying down.
I know what you mean about getting round to things even though it’s costing you money not getting round to it but I find that if I do it when I feel up to it I make the right decisions and if I do it when I’m low and drained I make the wrong decisions.  Good luck with changing it when you are feeling better and here’s to you feeling better soon.  I try not to put pressure on myself to get things done and not to stress when I can’t sleep.  It seems to help.  Take care Clinging on.  Helen
