Hi

I am new to this forum and I was wondering if any one is taking FILISA along side their anti-depressants ?

I have been on Citalopram 20 mg sometime 40mg for about 11 years since my father died. A lot of things have happened since then with stress at work and my mother also died within these 11 years.

I now have been seen by my GP and have stop taking Citalopram and went straight on to Lustral 50mg and I am just coming to the end of my first packet .....but I also have been taking Filisa for about 4 days with Vegepa and I can say that I feeling worse over these past two days very down not wanting to talk to anyone and crying at work !!

Can it be these herbal tablets making me feel worse before I get better or are they no good to me   ?

I hope someone on here can help me with this ?

Dear Chez, I am sorry to hear that you are feeling so down.  I would think it is extremely unlikely that the Filisa is making you feel worse.  More likely the change in your antidepressants and stopping taking one and taking another are taking some time to have the desired effect.  As you know antidepressant medication can take several weeks to make a difference.  The same can go for Filisa.  I have taken Filisa and it only helped me and I have not heard any negative feedback on it.  You could call the company and speak to them about it.  They are a very helpful and professional company and always welcome contact with their clients.  The same goes for the Vegepa which I really cannot imagine would be making you feel worse. EPA is proven to help depression.  Again it can take up to a few weeks to feel the maximum benefit.  It is the purest form and pharmaceutical grade of omega and primrose oil.  You could try asking your doctor for it on prescription to keep costs down.
I am not sure why you changed antidepressants and if citalopram was no longer effective but there are lots of different antidepressants on the market and different medications suit different people as we are all very different.  If one packet of your new antidepressant is one month’s worth you should be due a visit to your GP for a review.  You could tell your doctor how you are feeling.
I am sure that you will get other replies from other people on the site but do know that we are here and as hard as it may be to believe right now, you won’t always feel this way. Hang on in there.  Thinking of you.  Helen

Hi Chez, I felt worse coming off my antidepressant so it could be that for you.  I know you’ve replaced your’s with another one but still could be to do with that.  I don’t have much experience of herbal remedies but I would check out your reaction with your doc as it could be to do with coming off your citalopram or your new antidepressants or both.  Some antidepressants can make people feel worse to start with and have bad side effects, I know that.  I thought herbal remedies were more sympathetic with our bodies so I would question your pharmaceutical medication to starrt with as it’s awful feeling as bad as you do and you want to get that sorted asap.  Hope you’re feeling better.  Will
