Hi All
I am new to this forum.  I have Fibromyalgia and a few other problems.  I also have depression which is not that well controlled.  I am taking the maximum dose of Citalopram and I am also taking 15mg of Mirtazapine at night to help me sleep.  At one stage I wasn’t getting much sleep it went on for three weeks where I was getting only a few hours a sleep a night and I knew that it couldn’t carry on that way.

Currently I am getting around 3 to 5 hours sleep a day but I wake two or three times during the night.  I also have to get at least 2 or 3 times a night to go to the toilet.  I am always feeling knackered because of the lack of sleep so I end up falling to sleep in the afternoon.  I am also having problems with low blood glucose levels that is why I have been referred to the endocrinologist because it not normal for a non diabetic.  I have an appointment with Endocrinologist on 20 February.

My GP asked my to fill in an Epworth Sleepiness Test to see if I have a problem with Sleep apnoea and he has referred me to a specialist.  When I get a choose and book form I will book the appointment on the internet.

Happy New Year to all on the forum and 2013 will be a good year for all.
Dee
PS: Jai is my beautiful long haired German Shepherd and he will be 7 in January.  It doesn’t seem that long ago that he was that little bundle of joy sitting at the back of my powerchair and stopping everyone in town want to smoothing him and he loved it all.

Dear Dee, ıt wıll be good to get all your appoıntments and hopefully correct dıagnoses and treatment underway to see how much better you feel and start gettıng more on top of that too. Lack of sleep must be so draınıng. That alone can’t be helpıng your mood. Do you feel your symptoms of depressıon are helped by the cıtalopram? Do you also feel you could benefıt from talkıng to someone about how you’re feelıng? We are obvıously always here. There are also support groups ın most towns now that you can fınd out about at your GP surgery or local lıbrary.  Your dog sounds wonderful. They are amazıng companıons aren’t they. I don’t know what I would have done wıthout my dog when I was ıll. She played a bıg part ın my recovery. You take care Dee and a Happy New Year to you too. Here’s to sortıng out your health problems soon ın the New Year and well done you for followıng everythıng up. I know that ın ıtself ıs hard work especıally when you’re depressed. Best wıshes, Helen

Hi Dee, how are you doing?  I hope you’ve had a restful Christmas time and are looking forward to getting stuff sorted soon.  Take care.  Will
