Is anyone here old enough to remember the Osmonds? Well I am! I spend my teens listening to their music, a safe place to go in a world that I perceived as so scary. I never got to see them in their heyday because we couldn’t afford for me to go, and my parents wouldn’t have allowed it anyway. Over the last few years, however, I have been fortunate to see them several times - along with my long-suffering husband who comes with me every time! Well, next year they are doing their final UK tour (or at least that’s what they are calling it lol!) and I wasn’t going to go for a few reasons. But then last night I listened to one of their tracks that someone had posted on facebook, and all the excitement of my teens came back - and I thought I was over them lol! So now I have tickets booked for the concert and I am looking forward to going.

As well as ‘showing’ my age I am also ‘feeling’ my age this week lol! My back is really painful - from being too enthusiastic with the housework I think (I always said that housework is bad for you!). The pain does get me down because I worked so hard last year to lose some weight (2 stone) and be more active. I even did a sponsored bike ride as an incentieve to keep going with the activity. I have kept most of the weight off but my back has let me down in spite of lots of walking, glucosamine and all the other bits and pieces that are suggested for bad backs/arthritis. I want to go back to the docotr, but other than giving me more painkillers (I am already taking codeine) I don’t think there is much that can be done. I wondered if anyone here has tried any complementary therapies for arthritis-related pain?

There is no sunshine here today, but hopefully the weather will improve. Having said that, I quite like walking in the rain too!

Take care

Hi Glynis,

I’m sorry that your back is giving you trouble, and I’m also sorry that I haven’t got and advice for you on that. However, I hope its feeling better soon.

Well done for losing all that weight - 2 stones is quite and achievement.

Also, well done for booking tickets for the Osmonds, I really hope you enjoy it. We all deserve a little treat in our lives, especially after what we’ve being going through.

Take care,

Karma
