Depression depending on how severe is not really quickly fixed.  It depends on when it started and if you know why.

Your GP is always a good start as he/she can refer you to get the right help needed and they may suggest short term anti-depressants which can help you immediately.

Live happy, well everyone is different and ultimately it is about balance.  Balance between work, family and self time.  Financial happiness plays a good part in this too.  I would need to more about you in order to help you.

As in are you working, what do you do and are you in a relationship.  Do you have any pets? etc.

The more information, means I can help where you need it.

Love greenlady

Hi Jack

Welcome to the site!

I found thay CBT (Cognitive behavioural therapy) helped me a lot.

If you go to your local library they should have a lot of books on the subject. You do have to do the exercises but if you stick at it most people find it very helpful.

If you feel you need extra help, visit your GP who might be able to perscribe anti-depressants.

A combination of anti-depressants and therapy is generally more effective than either approach in isolation. Look up you local branch of Mind who might be able to advise you about therapists in your area if books alone are not enough.

Hope you feel better soon
