I still have some books for you. I am going to get a new book called The Happiness Hypothesis, Jonathan, Haidt.

Another one is A Path With A Heart, Jack Kornfield.

Never would I want to make a person more sad on this Forum.

I understand the pain and hurt of depression. Mental hospital in Germany, Then close to death with pills.

I care about so much about people.

Paul and Loulou

Its so easy to accidently upset someone when they are feeling stressed and depressed. Any slightly inconsidered, ambiguos remark, or word of disagreement seems to the depressed person to be a mortal insult.

I know because I’ve been going through it myself over the last month. I seem to be always thinking that most people are now against me and are going to completely reject me as one of my “friends” has so emphatically done. Some (unfortunately not all) of my other, friends have shown me by their support and amazing levels of kindness that this simply isn’t the case.

It really is so easy to give and take offence when your feeling down when none was really intended. So both of please don’t feel too upset.

Paul

I’ve been thinking the same thing about how nice it would be if we could all meet up and talk face to face.

I’ve been reading your posts about how much you enjoy your singing.  Maybe we could record and release a single to help fund the site. Do you remember the retirement home a couple of years ago who released a version of “The young ones” - I think they called themselves “The Zimmers”.  I’ve no idea what we would call ourselves, but I think “Help” by the Beatles would be the perfect song wink

Thank you for asking about my day. I’m not too bad at the moment but, as usual, I had a pretty bad morning. Apparently thats quite common - do you find that?

I’m sorry to hear your friends don’t come to see you. Do you live far from them? Would it be possible for you to visit them even for a little while?

Please take care

What a great Idea to record a record to help all the hard work of Helen.  My friends have their flats with T.v, which I don’t my friend mocks me a little in good humour.  My friends live half a mile away and 1 mile away.

Help is a brilliant song.  The Zimmers were really good and funny. Mark is so caught up in his own situition, at least I will see him tom.

Morning I am not to bad, its later on it hits me. I think meds I still working strong in the morning. There was one point I was really finding it hard to get out of bed.  Last week my felt all heavy. I thought I was breaking down again.

Lets come up with a name

Please take care my friend

I think we are spread right across the country. Helen is in London. I am in a Place Near Scarborough, the North East. Sea and Beaches all over the place.

Only only problem is work is very little on the ground. I understand my illness has to be looked into esp going into some work.
A new shop is opening soon, so I will apply and see what happens.

Nothing is impossible in this modern age,of motor cars trains buses. What will always remain is frienship

Good morning Paul,

I used to like to sing a lot - mainly to myself. However, just recently, I’ve not really felt like it. Are there any songs you find particularly helpful when you’re feeling down - I might give them a try.

I’ve got an appointment with my GP today. I’ve been signed off work until next Tuesday already but I still feel very anxious about the thought of going back. I might ask him about the possibility of a phased return.

Have you looked in to the possibility of income support for disability? I’ve pasted a link below that explains a little bit more about it in case it might be helpful to you.

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/BenefitsTaxCreditsAndOtherSupport/Illorinjured/DG_10018913

I’ve heared that it is quite common for people to be turned down on their initial application only for their claim to be allowed on appeal, however, I can’t say how true this is.

Take care

Hello Karma

It wonderful to hear from you my friend.  I hope you are going to be ok. Work is a frighting place when we are feeling unwell.

Loads of people to looked at me funny, when I was in the Army poorly, I felt so worthless. Small back to work is the only way forward. It all depends on the bosses you have.

I will say a prayer for you tonight at church.  Thank you for the link, that shows me that you are a very kind hearted person. The help in my situition , when you are poorly shows me the compassion you have.

Singing try this Krishna Das Live on Earth.  Its call and response.  Fills you with belief and happiness. I use it for a sing and when I do some yoga.

Take care Paul

Summer is a-coming in,
Loud sing cuckoo!
Grows seed, and blows mead(ow),
And springs the wood new—
  Sing, cuckoo!

Ewe bleats after lamb,
Lows after calf cow;
Bullock starts, buck farts,
Merry sing, cuckoo!

Cuckoo, cuckoo, well sing thou, cuckoo:
Nor cease thou never now!
Sing cuckoo, now, sing cuckoo,
Sing cuckoo, sing cuckoo, now!
