The title is a joke, and it isn't
This is not medical advice and this site is not a medical resource. I'm not a doctor, a therapist or a counsellor. These are one person's essays about her own life. If you are struggling, speak to your GP. In the UK, Samaritans will take a call any hour on 116 123, free. In an emergency, call 999.
I started this in 2008 because I was bored of reading about depression in the two registers available at the time: the clinical one and the inspirational one. Neither sounded like Tuesday.
These are essays about the ordinary bits. The admin. The specific comedy of cancelling plans you made while feeling better. The way a good day makes you suspicious. Eighteen years of that, on and off, mostly off.
What's here
Essays, an archive going back to 2008, and a short list of books I actually return to. No programme, no steps, no worksheet. Nothing to sign up for.
What isn't here
- Advice. I don't know what will help you and saying otherwise would be a lie.
- My diagnosis history in detail. It's not useful and it's not interesting.
- Anything about medication doses. That's between you and a doctor, and getting it from a stranger's website is a genuinely bad idea.
- Descriptions of self-harm or method. I've kept the site clear of that since the start.
