This is not medical advice and this site is not a medical resource. I'm not a doctor, a therapist or a counsellor. These are one person's essays about her own life. If you are struggling, speak to your GP. In the UK, Samaritans will take a call any hour on 116 123, free. In an emergency, call 999.
Who runs it
Helen Marsden, in the north of England. A personal website with no commercial activity: nothing is sold here, nothing is advertised, and there is no company behind it. Contact: write@depressioncanbefun.com.
Using the writing
Quote it, print it, put an essay in a waiting room or a classroom if it's useful. Credit is welcome and not required. What I'd ask is that pieces aren't reproduced in full on another site without asking, and that nothing here is used to sell anything — a course, an app, a supplement. That happens more than you'd think.
Accuracy
These are essays about my own experience. They're not researched claims about depression in general and shouldn't be cited as though they were.

Where I name a book or an organisation, I have no connection to it and receive nothing. The helpline numbers on this site are checked once a year; if one has changed, please tell me, because that's the one kind of error here that actually matters.
